Bright Futures’ accerates its digital journey

Bright Futures has achieved notable progress in its digital transformation since launching its overarching strategy in January 2025.

Key strategic developments have included:

  • Successfully launching a pilot AI policy
  • Participating in the Invictus AI Hackathon to generate actionable innovation ideas
  • Establishing a comprehensive Digital Transformation and Training Initiative in partnership with Computeam

Computeam specialises in educational technology and digital transformation services, helping schools to integrate technology into the learning environment, streamline administrative processes, and enhance overall digital literacy.

For Bright Futures, Computeam is providing bespoke consultancy tailored to the Trust’s specific needs, ensuring every aspect of the digital transformation aligns with its vision, values and reaching its strategic ambitions.

This ambitious project is governed by strong leadership, featuring a dedicated Digital Transformation Lead and a Transformation and Training Group (TTG). The project closely aligns with the DfE’s key digital leadership and governance standards, aiming to enhance educational outcomes, improve administrative efficiency, and strategically integrate AI technology into schools.

At the heart of the training initiative is Learning Locker, an innovative training platform that allows staff to engage with digital skills development and mandatory compliance at their own pace through micro-learning modules and automated progress tracking, significantly reducing administrative burden on senior leadership teams.

Since its launch on 1 September 2025 the initiative has exceeded all expectations, demonstrating Bright Futures’ commitment to flexible, supportive professional development.  Key performance headlines include:

  • 54% immediate staff engagement – Over half of Bright Futures colleagues logged in within the first week of launch
  • 37,242 minutes of CPD completed – Substantial learning hours accumulated Trust-wide
  • Seven colleagues completed 10+ courses each – Demonstrating exceptional professional commitment

As Bright Futures continues to roll out this ambitious initiative, the next steps include:

  • Expansion of Learning Locker: Encouraging full engagement across the Trust with the platform, ensuring all staff complete compulsory modules.
  • Data collection and reporting: Using data from Learning Locker to track progress and assess the effectiveness of the training and digital tools.
  • Ongoing collaboration and feedback: Coordinating CPD sessions and continuing to gather feedback from staff to refine and evolve the digital transformation strategy.

In conclusion, the Digital Transformation and Training Initiative is already showing strong progress, and Bright Futures is excited about the potential to create a more efficient, innovative, and future-ready educational environment across the Trust.

Further updates will be shared as transformative changes are rolled out.
