Bright Futures SCITT growth continues with The Challenge Academy Trust

Bright Futures Educational Trust is celebrating further expansion of its School-Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) following the announcement of a brand-new partnership.

From September 2022, Bright Futures SCITT will work together with The Challenge Academy Trust (TCAT) as their accredited provider, to facilitate their School Direct teacher training offer.

Lisa Fathers, Executive Leader at Bright Futures, said: “We are delighted to welcome TCAT on board, adding real richness to our partnership and further strengthening the SCITT programme offer – this is another exciting development for Bright Futures.

“We have an existing successful SCITT partnership with Culcheth High School, using a scaled-up satellite model, and from September we will partner with both Co-op Academies Trust and Breck Primary School using the same collaborative approach.”

Andy Moorcroft, Chief Executive Officer at TCAT, commented: “Establishing and growing strong partnerships is key to the success of any SCITT programme. We want our graduate teacher trainees to be outstanding, resilient teachers with a passion for learning and teaching, who really want to make a difference to the lives of young people.

“We expect this venture with Bright Futures to be a huge success given how closely aligned our values are, together with our shared aspirations for our graduate trainees. We are committed to ensuring that TCAT ITT continues to go from strength to strength and we look forward to further developing this partnership.”

TCAT’s School Direct ITT is based in the TCAT Development Centre at Bridgewater High School. TCAT is a multi-academy trust in Warrington, Cheshire comprising of Primary, Secondary and Sixth Form providers.
