Elmridge excels with Arts Award

Bravo to Elmridge Primary School! The school has been awarded the prestigious Artsmark Gold Level Award which recognises the hard work of students and staff over the last three years, during which time all areas of the arts have been explored and enjoyed. There have been wonderful experiences such as visits to art galleries, musical and choral performances and dance workshops. Pupils have made links with other schools abroad as well as strengthening relationships with other academies within the Trust. Arts ambassadors have raised the profile of the arts in school and have shared ideas with ambassadors from other. The Awards assessors praised Elmridge for its ongoing commitment to providing arts and cultural experiences for pupils, saying: “You have shared expertise in art and provided training for twenty trainee primary teachers on skills and methods to support the delivery of the National Curriculum in Art. Pupils have also had the opportunity to gain authentic experiences and visit cultural centres. Despite the challenges Covid presented, you have still managed to engage pupils and parents.”  A brilliant achievement. Well done to all!
