Cedar Mount Academy is delighted to announce a new three-year partnership with Sigma Capital through Class Of Your Own and its Design Engineer Construct! (DEC) programme, creating exciting opportunities for pupils to engage with real-world design, engineering and construction projects.
Through Key Stage 3 Design and Technology, pupils will take part in industry-relevant learning experiences that develop practical skills in digital design, sustainability and the built environment. The partnership will help bridge the gap between classroom learning and future careers, giving pupils a deeper understanding of how their studies relate to opportunities in further education, apprenticeships and employment.
As part of the partnership, Sigma Capital’s sponsorship will enhance the programme through access to industry expertise, educational visits, careers talks and engagement with professionals working across design, engineering and construction. These experiences will support pupils in developing both technical knowledge and a greater awareness of the pathways available to them beyond school.
The Design Engineer Construct! programme, developed by Class Of Your Own, is recognised for connecting young people with real-world industry challenges and helping them develop the skills and knowledge needed for the future workforce. Through the programme, Cedar Mount pupils will gain valuable insight into the design, engineering and construction sectors while applying their learning to practical projects.
Stephen Garvey, Principal at Cedar Mount Academy said: “We are thrilled to begin this partnership with Sigma Capital and Class Of Your Own. The Design Engineer Construct! programme will provide our pupils with exciting opportunities to develop new skills, work on real-world projects and gain a greater understanding of the wide range of careers available within design, engineering and construction. We are grateful to everyone involved in making this partnership possible and look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on our pupils over the coming years.”
By connecting children and young people with industry professionals and real-world projects, the partnership supports Bright Futures’ commitment to providing the best possible opportunities for those it serves and helping pupils develop the knowledge, skills and aspirations needed for future success.
