Melland’s Parent & Carer Information Day and Winter Fair

Melland High School had an amazing morning at their annual Parent/Carer Information Day and Winter Fair. One of the school’s valued governors, Cath Stone, worked tirelessly to organise over 40 partners coming from across Manchester to run information stalls dedicated to providing support and advice for families. There were also many student enterprise stalls with crafts and games, a wonderful winter café and the opportunity for the whole school community to get together and share a great morning. Staff and students worked hard to make the event successful, and it really was.

Guests included Manchester Museum, Gorton Monastery, 4CT, Better Sport, KIDS, Wheels for All, Lifted, Short Breaks, Manchester Carers Centre, Pinc College, Young Lives, Manchester Parent/Carer Forum, S.P.A.C.E, AJ’s, Talbot House plus many more! An amazing wealth of support for parents and carers.

Students came along to enjoy being with their families and talking to stallholders, as well as participating in fundraising activities. There was a very popular raffle for students and five lucky winners were over the moon with prizes including a Kindle Fire, Manchester United Tour tickets, New Balance trainers and lots of chocolate!

A fantastic event and huge thanks to everyone involved!
