We are thrilled to announce that we are one of 12 founding education sector partners on the BAMEed Jobs and Careers Board – www.bameedjobs.com – developed and managed by Teacheroo, a leading education jobs board.
BAMEed are a national network aiming to address the societal inequalities and imbalance of diversity in the education sector by driving change to ensure the workforce of teachers and leaders represents the diverse communities in our society. They seek to do this through opening-up career opportunities for underrepresented groups including Black, Asian and minority ethnic groups, supporting and equipping them to progress their careers while inspiring future generations.
Bright Futures features as a profile employer on the BAMEed jobs and careers board and our vacancies are actively promoted via the BAMEed Network to help the Trust to reach out to a wider, diverse audience and to attract diverse talent.

Lynette Beckett, Director of People and Strategy at Bright Futures, said: “We are thrilled to be one of the founding partners with BAMEed for their Jobs and Careers Board. This partnership truly aligns with our vision: ‘the best for everyone, the best from everyone’, our three values: community, integrity and passion, and two of our eight commitments, namely: collaboration and strong relationships and equality, diversity and inclusion. We are committed to delivering our employer promise of being a ‘A Great Place to Work’ and the partnership is key in helping us to achieve this by actively promoting inclusion and improving the diversity of our workforce, thereby driving change in both the education sector and wider society.”
This inclusive approach to our recruitment practices has already had a positive impact, with some of our schools seeing a significant increase in the number of applicants from non-white ethnic backgrounds.
This recruitment partnership supports the work of our Professional Development Institute. Our Leadership Programme equips senior leadership teams with a solid understanding of what diversity and inclusion mean, the barriers faced by under-represented groups, different types of bias and how they manifest themselves in behaviours and in systems, such as culture, recruitment, and talent management.
In addition, Manchester Local Authority commissioned Bright Futures to provide the ‘Diversity Series CPD’ for School Leaders and at their national conference the Teaching School Hub Council asked Lisa Fathers, another of our Executive Leaders, to provide Race & Diversity training across the network. Lisa jointly delivered this with Sufian Sadiq from Chiltern Teaching School Hub.
