Appointment of Chief Executive Officer

I am delighted to announce that the Board of Trustees has appointed Lisa Fathers OBE as the substantive Chief Executive Officer of Bright Futures Educational Trust.

Following a robust selection process and a unanimous decision by Trustees, Lisa moves from her current role as Interim CEO into the substantive position with immediate effect. The Board has every confidence in the leadership and stewardship Lisa will bring to this role.

Lisa has served as Interim CEO since January, providing strong, values-driven leadership during a period of significant national change. She has consistently placed children and young people at the heart of decision-making, strengthened leadership capacity across the Trust, and built further on our culture of collaboration and ambition. This appointment also follows a year of national recognition for Lisa, who was awarded an OBE for Services to Education in the King’s Birthday Honours 2025 — recognition of her contribution to the education sector and to the children and communities she serves.

On behalf of the Board, I look forward to working with Lisa as we build on the strong foundations of Bright Futures and continue to deliver our vision of excellence, inclusion and opportunity for every child.
