Cedar Mount Academy is proud to celebrate significant improvement in GCSE outcomes, with this summer’s results demonstrating strong progress across the school and some of the academy’s best results in recent years.
Pupils achieved strong results in English, mathematics and science, alongside improving outcomes across a wide range of other subjects. These achievements reflect the hard work and dedication of the school’s young people, their teachers and families, who have worked together to ensure pupils are well prepared for their next steps in further education, training and employment.
Principal Stephen Garvey commented: “These results mark a significant step forward for Cedar Mount Academy. We are particularly pleased to see further improvement in English and mathematics, together with some excellent outcomes in science and across the wider curriculum.
“This progress is testament to the hard work and determination of our pupils, supported by the dedication of our staff and families. Our Year 11 pupils should be extremely proud of what they have achieved, and we wish them every success as they move on to the next stage of their education and training.”
Lisa Fathers OBE, Chief Executive Officer of Bright Futures Educational Trust, added: “I am delighted to see the significant progress being made at Cedar Mount Academy. These results reflect a school moving forward with confidence, underpinned by a strong culture of belonging where every young person is encouraged to thrive. They are a credit to the commitment of pupils, staff and families across the school community. We are proud of everything this year’s cohort has achieved.”
Among this year’s cohort are a number of exceptional individual achievements. Husna (pictured) achieved an outstanding set of results, including a suite of grade 9s while Darin (pictured with Principal Stephen Garvey) was among those celebrating some of the highest grades achieved at the academy this year.

There were particularly strong performances across the core subjects, with 77.1% of pupils achieving grade 4 or above in English Literature and 67.8% achieving grade 4 or above in mathematics. Strong outcomes were also achieved in the separate sciences, while subjects including French, history, business studies and hospitality and catering showed encouraging improvement on last year’s results.
Cedar Mount Academy is determined to build on this progress and to continue supporting every pupil to achieve their very best. The school community is proud of all its Year 11 pupils and wishes them every success as they move on to sixth form, college, apprenticeships or training and begin the next exciting stage of their lives.
